Hoarding disorder is now recognised as a distinct mental illness that requires a professional response. However, housing teams often struggle to understand different forms of mental illness and how best to respond to associated behaviours.

In detail this course will increase your understanding of mental illness and it's impact on housing provision. Exploring how hoarding develops and building your undertsnading of how hoarders think and feel about their possessions. This course will give you the practical tools and best practice responses to support those with hoarding disorder, whilst considering relevant legislation that shapes your obligations as a housing provider.
