Frontline futures: Leading change and making a difference

19 September 2018

What is frontline futures?

It's a radical change programme based on the CIH landmark report ‘Frontline Futures: new era, changing role for housing officers’. Published in 2014 the report aims to equip participants with the behavioural competencies identified as being key for frontline housing roles.

This transformative programme is now entering it's fourth year. With over 120 housing professionals and their organisations already benefiting from it's unique and powerful impact.

How this programme will benefit you and your organisation

Taking practitioners and their managers through a transformative experience. It will increase resilience and autonomy, achieving the goal of improved outcomes for service users and business objectives.

The course adopts a multi-tier learner approach to develop individuals to embrace, drive and champion change to deliver a more progressive organisational culture. It embraces large and small group interactions with powerful one-to-one coaching sessions throughout the programme.

About the programme

The focus of the programme is on the role of frontline workds and their interations with service users to resolve issues and deliver service excellence. Modules are highly interactive and participative and include theory, practice, post programme homework, reflection coaching and action learning.

Learning through doing is an integral part of the programme with a particular emphasis on embedding and applying learning in the workplace. It uses change theory to focus on improving skills, techniques, self-awareness, personal effectivemess, resilience and understanding what facilitates behavioural change.

The programme will develop skills and behaviours to enable learners to:

  • build resilience to approach new challenges positively and flexibly
  • constructively question and challenge practice and policy
  • build people engagement and communication skills to have the confidence to deliver behavioral change
  • develop self awareness, self reflection and understand personal impact
  • promote independence with service users to support and encourage positive risk taking
  • manage resources effectively and creatively
  • develop skills to drive and support the change challenge successfully
  • use motivational interview and coaching approaches to facilitate others to recognise opportunities and choice.
