or browse by topic

Housing Ireland is the biannual CIH journal for Irish housing professionals - it aims to support people in their work and to inform and influence housing policy. Now, more than ever, the housing sector needs to engage with policy makers, as professionals grapple with big challenges including how they can deliver on the government's housing plans.

The collapse of the housing market led to new approaches within the housing sector and characterises the new approach to public policy in Ireland. This energy within the housing sector led to CIH developing Housing Ireland.

The first edition of the journal was unveiled at the National Library of Ireland in April 2012 where minister Jan O’Sullivan said: "If ever there was a need for open debate, clear communication and the dissemination of ideas in the housing forum, then this is an opportune moment for such a launch.

"We are moving to a new and rapidly evolving housing environment in this country. This requires vision, imagination and bold actions. I think this vision will be informed in no small part by the activities of the Chartered Institute of Housing and the magazine, which we have pleasure in launching here today."
